Sunmi Device ROM OTA Procedure
The article describes the procedure for the ROM of the Sunmi device to be upgraded.
Instructions
Sunmi OS team releases a new version of the ROM for one type of device.
Based on requests to upgrade the ROM, the Sunmi team deploys the ROM to the dedicated customers/groups/devices from the Sunmi cloud service.
The target devices will receive a system notification to indicate an update for the device.
If the devices are configured by the customer to upgrade automatically under some conditions, for example, WiFi connected and installed at night, the device will download the ROM automatically and install it at night.
If the devices are not configured to upgrade automatically, the user can manually upgrade the ROM via the Android Settings menu.
Once the ROM package has been downloaded, the system will install it and reboot it. It may take minutes to hours, based on the network speed.
Download speed, installation time can be configured by the customer. And please make sure the device has sufficient free space to save the new ROM.
